Congratulations to all award-winning schools and Campus Decarbonisation Ambassadors!
The Youth Decarbonisation Platform, Hong Kong’s first territory-wide youth carbon reduction initiative jointly organised by ICBC (Asia) Charitable Foundation and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, recently held its Awards Ceremony, recognising more than 300 students from 14 primary and secondary schools for their active participation in carbon reduction actions and outstanding environmental leadership over the past year.
Since its launch in 2023, the platform has engaged nearly 17,000 students and achieved a cumulative carbon reduction of over 2.87 million kilograms of CO₂, equivalent to the carbon absorption of approximately 40,000 trees over three years!

Students also participated in the Sustainable Development Goals Board Game Workshop and the Reimagining Food AI Workshop, and visited the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, gaining deeper insights into climate change and sustainable development through interactive learning experiences.

The 2026/27 Campus Decarbonisation Ambassador Programme will open for enrolment to schools across Hong Kong this August. We look forward to working with more young people to promote green living and build a low-carbon Hong Kong together!

About HKFYG Sustainability Unit
The aim of The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups is to educate and create opportunities for youths and engage them as critical actors in environmental awareness and protection.
Through the principle, “Learn to Lead, Lead to Change“, youths are equipped with the appropriate attitude, skills and knowledge on sustainability through various training and exposure programmes.
Focusing on Youth-led Decarbonisation, a three- level model was adopted to engage youths in green sustainable development comprising Sustainability Foundation, Sustainability in Action and Sustainability Leadership.
The “Youth Decarbonisation Platform – 2025/26 Campus Decarbonisation Ambassador Programme” award ceremony was successfully held on 27th June 2026.
Student Ambassador representatives from CCC Ming Kei College shared their carbon reduction journey over the past year.
Student Ambassador representatives from Tuen Mun Government Secondary School shared the challenges they faced in promoting carbon reduction, as well as the insights and personal growth they gained along the way.
Student Ambassador representatives from Chinese YMCA Secondary School shared how they promoted waste reduction and proper recycling practices on campus.

Participants visited the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

The Sustainable Development Goals Board Game Workshop enabled students to learn about the SDGs through fun and interactive gameplay.

At the Reimagining Food AI Workshop, students learned how AI can be applied to help address climate change challenges.
