Little Chefs, Big Impact

Last Sunday (8 March), the “ONE ICBC Low-carbon Family Cooking Competition,” co-organised by the ICBC (Asia) Charitable Foundation, came to a successful close! We brought the concept of “low-carbon dining” into the hearts of families, planting the seeds of sustainability right at their dining table.

The challenge was no piece of cake! Families had to tackle a “Blind Box” of secret local organic ingredients, striving for the perfect balance of low carbon practice, nutrition, taste, creativity, and teamwork. It was heart-warming and fun to watch our big and little chefs work together to turn low-carbon knowledge into delicious, eco-friendly dishes!

About the Youth Decarbonisation Platform

Since the 2023/24 academic year, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups has been promoting the “Youth Decarbonisation Platform” in schools, achieving over 2,700,000 kg of carbon reduction to date. As the program enters its third year, we aim to encourage more youth involvement in carbon reduction initiatives. The “Campus Decarbonisation Ambassador” program has been launched to cultivate a group of environmentally conscious student leaders who will mobilize their peers to adopt low-carbon lifestyles. This initiative not only significantly reduces carbon emissions in schools but also enhances environmental awareness and responsibility among students and staff.
